An Almost Disappearing Act!

Baby C gave us a scare while we were out at Roxy 1U earlier today. As we finished trying on the clothes, DH went to the counter while I tried to cleaned up the jumble of slippers on the floor with which she was entertaining herself. (Oh ya, she only likes shopping for shoes and cars...clothes is a big no-no :p )

So when I was cleaning up, I told her to go look for daddy who was in the queue at the counter. Having picked up the slippers and putting them back, I walked over to the counter and saw her standing next to her daddy below the counter so I went ahead to look at some bags.

Then DH called over and asked me where she was and I told him she was with him at the counter and to my horror, she wasn't! Just at that moment, a Roxy salesguy came up to me and asked if i had come with a child, and that the child had run out of the store....I immediately ran out of the shop and looked left and right...oh no...no sight of her...i spun 360 degrees and still no baby C! All the while, I was still calm but my mind was already working overtime...what's the next step etc. I heard the salesguy call and he pointed straight ahead....I walked that direction and praise the Lord Jesus, I saw her head bobbing behind some people seated at a food outlet at the concourse. I immediately called her and she came running happily. She wasn't old enough to be frightened I think cos she was smiling and dancing when I first spotted her. I also thank the Lord that most ppl had gone off for CNY and it wasn't as crowded as it usually is during weekends....and I thank the Lord too for the attentive salesguy who pointed out the way she went...if not, I would not have been able to spot her so fast.

Well, lesson learnt here today was that to communicate to each other where she is as DH later told me that he wasn't aware that she was with him the time she was at the counter....and NEVER EVER to take your eyes off little toddlers!

Spotting Triangles

Baby C has a new hobby...spotting triangles....

She's able to spot triangles everywhere....among stones, cut tiles, on shoes, in the seams of clothing etc. It's really funny where she spots them. :)

New Year Surprise

I went to Tropicana Medical Center after sending Baby C to school for a check up with Dr W. The actual reason was actually to get some drugs to stop my milk production as I think 2 years and 2 months of bfd is good enough.

I was impressed with its size and was especially happy with the ample parking space provided. Such a welcome change from when they were at Damansara Utama. This is also the first hospital I've been in that has escalators and not only lifts so I do like the idea of not having to wait and cram with people.

The appointment system has also improved alot and the wait time was rather short and best of all, it's wifi enabled so an ipod would definitely make the wait time fly like a dream.

When Dr W was doing the routine exams, he surprised everybody by saying, "congratulations! i see a baby!" I was like, "huh? are you sure? check again!" And he turned on the speakers so we heard the baby's heartbeat. I was like wow....that's fast, we only tried (not even really tried at that...we just didn't take precautions...but no calculating etc) last month and now i am six weeks pregnant. How simple! hehe

Now, if only I can fast forward another 3 years and baby x will be as old as baby C now, it would be great. One thing, we hope that he/she will have the same personality as baby C as we think she's just perfect :)

New Year, New Blog

Well, i decided to have a public blog after maintaining a private one for years.

Two major things happened since the turn of the new year...

1) I bought my first new car - the new Honda City 2009 (Gen 3 if counting only in Malaysia, Gen 5 if counting worldwide release). Estimated delivery is in June although my sales agent (DA) said that I may receive April or May seeing they have pumped up the production. I was contemplating whether to go through the hassle of transferring the 111 that papa reserved for me on a bike under my bro's name or to tender a new number (Our 2nd hand car dealer friend said that he has a "power" runner who will be able to do the transfers in a week for RM700). In the end I decided to tender my own number. I choose 21 and I hope it won't be too expensive.

2) Baby C has already started pre-school at Kiddie Patch at Mutiara Damansara. School started on the 5th Jan. She's only 2 but I don't think it's too early as some people adviced me as she really enjoys herself and looks forward to going to school in the morning. Even when she's still hasn't had enough sleep, she'll drag herself out of bed groggily when she hears that there's school to attend. I like this school as the classes are small, max 8 kids for each of their 5 classes. The student count is only 30. And she's fed pretty good lunches (if they actually serve what they wrote on their menu that is) and snacks.

Of course, she cried for the first 2 days...the first day, she didn't cry when I dropped her off as she was in a blur with all the activities and the sounds of children crying on the top of their lungs. But S texted me that baby C was crying when she sent B. When we fetched her the teacher said that she had cried almost the whole 2 hours there. The second day, she was happy to be at school but when she saw me leaving, she reached out her hands to me crying but I had to harden my heart and left after a hug and kiss goodbye. On the third day, she was running to the teacher and happily says "goodbye mummy". I am very glad that she has adjusted so fast and actually looks forward to going to school.

Well, time for lunch and then fetching her home.
