Hello Iphone 4!!

So, i got my iphone day before yesterday. Believe it or not, i actually managed to get it on the spot!
What happened was this: i brought kiki to watch Alpha and Omega at cineleisure. She was home as she had a high fever the day before that and we were keeping her home an extra day. But since i had promised her to watch “the wolf and the fox” as she calls it, i figured a short trip should be not too taxing.
Kiki was excited of course but i think mostly she was excited to eat popcorn. Like the denanding little lady she is, she instructed the man manning the popcorn booth that she wanted “dark and white together, more dark less white”…meaning both caramel and salty. I got a bag of cheezels too as a good measure to counter the sugar fest going on with the popcorn container :p
After the movie, we passed the Maxis center on our way downstairs. On a whim i stopped by to inquire about the iphone. I was mildly surprised when i was informed that it was immediate availability if i ordered with the plans. Since the atmosphere was calm and almost empty i didn’t feel any sense of urgency. So i told him i’ll think about it planning to come back the next day or so.
While waiting for our koay teow th’ng i called T who said “get it lah” but i still dawdled over the decision. After lunch i took my time going down to the car to get the stroller as i didnt want to tax Kiki too much.
Intending to get a mic for skype use, we passed Maxis again and this time it seems busier than before. I went in with my kiasu instnct piqued and asked for a unit. I was anxious for a little while when the promoter asked another guy if there were any more iphones and i could see his face intently doing some internal calculations then he took a number for me but all the while still wearing a slightly worried look. I felt more relieved when he finally came over to take down my details.
The number i was holding was 5010 and the board said 5006 so i thought “great! Only 4 numbers!”. Little did i know that get past those 4 numbers would take around an hour! Yes, we just sat around waiting, while Kiki was getting more and more antsy…although at a slower pace than her normal healthy one. For that i was grateful. If i had known 4 numbers would take so long to roll to i would’ve gone opposite to get the mic.

Since my last post..........

Kiki has grown up to be a headstrong, imginative little lady. Her teachers (Auntie Ina and Uncle Sam has even pulled me aside to inform me that her memory is superb!)
We have moved her to the new Kiddies Patch at Desa Park City.
We have a new addition to the family...little Lucas born 3/5/10.
We have a full time Filipina maid since Aug 10I've taken over the cooking - no more catered food!

Will try to update this blog more often. Most blogs will be at wordpress now as I still can't find a way to upload pic on blogger :P

Toilet Training

So, Kiki is on the way to be toilet trained. She took to it within a couple of days - except for the 1 day in school where she had 2 accidents cos her regular teacher wasn't in and she didn't tell the other teachers when she needed to get to the bathroom - cos we always tell her, if you want to shi shi, tell auntie ina!

The only problem for now is that she sometimes neglects to tell us when she needs to go (esp if she's otherwise occupied), so i have to ask her regularly throughout the day.

She's so cute, she knows that shi shi gets 1 sticker and poo poo gets 2 - but she will cheekily tell me, poo poo in toilet get FIVE stickers! :)

Home Alone

Kiki surprised me 2 days ago when she refused to follow me downstairs to get some breakfast. She'd rather stay home and watch cartoons. I asked her repeatedly and she still answered no till i closed the door behind me. So i went down and when I came up 20 mins later, she wasn't crying or anything, just ran to the door to greet me!

Yesterday, I left my phone in the car so again i asked her if she want to go down and again she said no. "Kiki dowan go downstairs. Kiki stay home"

Dress ups and paper shoes

We played dress up today! Well, not actually dress up but she got a bed sheet cloak and paper 'boat' shoes and voila, we have a little princess on our hands. ^^
She was so excited dragging the shoes around and it amuses me that their imagination is such that expensive toys are actually not all that necessary.
Bet imagination is not TRU's greatest proponent...hehe

Push...

Kiki was at the doctor's again today as she developed a slight fever last night. She struggled to poo this morning but was crying and whining cos she was constipated. The doctor said that the fever may be caused by her constipation and it's too early to tell what's the cause as her throat is a littler red too.

Such bad timing as today hubby finally has a day off after weeks of hard work and he had planned for us to go to the mall. And tomorrow is kiki's godbrother's birthday party at cosmoworld too and i hope she'll be all recovered by then. If her fever persists, she's to go back to the hospital for a second check on Monday. With the existence of H1N1, it is rather worrying that she has a fever now.

She's finally down for her afternoon nap - immediately after she struggled and cried and whimpered and managed to excrete an egg of a poo! The poor baby...

Goodbye MJ

Yesterday was the memorial for the legandary Michael Jackson and although I didn't watch the live telecast, I watched it on youtube last night and I cried - although i wasn't a big fan or anything, it is just a tragic loss for all of us.

I know ppl who are still doubtful of his character after the well publicised accusations but I have always and will always believe that it is just not in him - he is as innocent as a child himself and God has taken him to prevent the rest of the world from further prosecuting such an innocent soul!

MJ - may you rest in peace
